Course Description

Continuation of Human Anatomy & Physiology I. This course covers the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and endocrine systems. Emphasis on clinical correlations and pathophysiology relevant to nursing practice. Laboratory sessions include dissection, physiological experiments, and diagnostic testing.

Prerequisites

BIO 201 with grade of C or better

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Explain the structure and function of the cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, urinary, reproductive, and endocrine systems
  • Describe the integration and regulation of body systems
  • Relate normal physiology to common pathological conditions
  • Interpret basic diagnostic tests (ECG, spirometry, urinalysis)
  • Apply knowledge of fluid, electrolyte, and acid-base balance to clinical scenarios
  • Demonstrate laboratory skills including dissection and physiological measurements
